Return Policy

1. Returns

1.1. To be eligible for a return or a refund, you will need to notify us in writing to Help@TheDigitalFactory.co.za of your request to return the item, the reason for the return, and provide proof of purchase.

1.2. The product(s) must be returned to us within 7 days of receiving your order.

1.3. The product(s) being returned must be unused and in it's original, unopened packaging.

1.4. If more than 7 days have gone by since your purchase, or the item has been used, or its packaging opened, we cannot offer you a return or refund.

1.5. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned e.g. consumables such as printer cartridges, software that has been opened or used, clothing items due to hygiene reasons and built-to-order systems that required assembly by us.

1.6. You are responsible for returning the product(s) to us and the associated costs regarding delivery and insurance.

1.7. A 20% restocking fee will apply to all returns.

We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, less shipping costs and restocking fee, and a credit will be applied to your credit card or bank account. Please allow 7-10 business days for the funds to reflect on your credit card, or 2-3 business days for the funds to reflect on your bank account should we pay you via EFT.

Please ensure that you provide a correct delivery address and ensure you are available to receive your order, as we are not liable to refund an order that was delivered to the address you specified.

2. Warranty Repairs

2.1. Many of our products are covered by their respective manufacturers carry-in warranty.

What is a defect? A defect is a material imperfection in the manufacture of a product or any characteristic of a product, which makes the product less acceptable than one would reasonably be entitled to expect in the circumstances.

2.2. The following will not be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a request a refund:

      • faults resulting from normal wear and tear;
      • damage arising from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the product;
      • damage arising from electrical surges or sea air corrosion;
      • damage arising from a failure to adequately care for the product;
      • damage arising from unauthorized alterations to the product;
      • where the specifications of a product, although accurately described on the Website and generally fit for its intended purpose, do not suit you

2.3. Should you believe your item to be defective, we will provide you with authorization and depending on the warranty type, direct you to the nearest carry-in centre at Midrand, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth or Nelspruit (product specific).

2.4. Your item will be examined by our suppliers for defect or damage.

2.5. Should the item be defective, it will be replaced or repaired as per the terms of that respective manufacturer’s warranty.

2.6. Should the item be damaged or not covered by a manufacturer's warranty, our supplier will quote the cost of repairs which will be for your account.
